In the States
Ask your state
legislators to support contraceptive equity!
Question:
I live in a state that already has a contraceptive equity law, but my health insurance
plan still doesn't cover contraception. Why?
Answer:
You are not alone. About half of all workers who get health insurance through their
employer work for medium-to-large companies that are self-insured. Self-insured companies
are not required to obey state insurance laws, such as contraceptive equity laws. If EPICC is enacted, your health plan will cover contraception.
You can make a difference - starting with your own health plan. Check out the do-it-yourself tool kit.
